Extensions to Temporary Residence Status

Citizenship and Immigration Canada warns that the summer is their busy season for applications from students, workers and visitors for extensions to their temporary residence status. The Department recommends that you apply for an extension well ahead of the normal 30 days lead time suggested in the application kit. Since there's a possibility of a postal strike soon, it would be a good idea to invest in a courier service to send your application.
