Scrapping Your Old Car

Environment Canada estimates that pre-1988 vehicles and poorly maintained vehicles are responsible for about 35 percent of on-road emissions in Canada. To encourage owners to get older, high polluting vehicles off the road, the federal government and local community groups are funding car scrapping programs, with environment-friendly incentives. If your car won't pass vehicle emission tests, or it's on its last legs, you might be able to ease the pain a little with one of these programs.
