Same-Sex Marriages Bill Goes to Supreme Court

The Minister of Justice has referred a draft of the bill redefining marriage to include same-sex unions to the Supreme Court of Canada. The government wants the court's opinion on three questions related to the constitutionality of the bill before it introduces it in the House of Commons. No schedule has been set for the Supreme Court hearings, but they're likely to be this fall.
