Liberals Win New Brunswick Election

Shawn Graham led the Liberal Party to victory in the New Brunswick provincial election September 18, 2006, and will become New Brunswick's next premier. In a low-key and cautious election campaign, New Brunswick voters were not convinced by claims from Progressive Conservative Premier Bernard Lord that his close ties with Prime Minister Stephen Harper and the federal Conservatives would give the province an advantage. The NDP did not win any seats.
