Royal Grandson to Marry a Canadian
Sunday July 29, 2007
Buckingham Palace has announced that Peter Phillips, grandson of Queen Elizabeth II and son of Princess Anne, is engaged to Autumn Kelly, a Montrealer.
Autumn Kelly is 31. She grew up in Pointe-Claire, and graduated from McGill University in 2002. After graduating, she began work as a management consultant. Peter Phillips, 29, is the son of Princess Anne and her ex-husband Captain Mark Phillips. He is 10th in line to the throne and the Queen's oldest grandson.
The couple met at the Canadian Grand Prix in Montreal in 2003, where Phillips was a sponsorship manager for the Williams Formula One team. They began dating, and Kelly moved to Britain soon afterwards. The two have been living together in a cottage on Princess Anne's Gatcombe Park estate in the Cotswolds.
Phillips now works for the Royal Bank of Scotland. He does not hold a royal title and does not carry out official royal duties.
No wedding date has been announced.
