Remembrance Day in Canada
Friday November 9, 2007
The Armistice of World War I was signed in 1918 at the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month. On November 11 Canadians observe Remembrance Day by wearing poppies and attending memorial services to pay tribute to those who died in war for Canada. While attendance at memorial services on Remembrance Day has been increasing in recent years, polls by the Dominion Institute of Canada show that Canadians' knowledge of their history is fading fast. Take some time to explore Remembrance Day in Canada to help keep the memory alive and honour the legacy of those Canadians who gave everything for their country.Image: WWII Poster Based on "In Flanders Fields"
