In what appears to be a New Years tradition, Canadian postage rates have gone up again.
The price of a stamp to mail a standard-sized first-class letter, card or postcard inside Canada has gone up two cents, from 61 cents to 63 cents.
Mailing a letter to the United States has also gone up a nickel to $1.10 from $1.05. Mailing letters to other countries now costs $1.85, up from $1.80.
If you're like the rest of us, it probably won't affect you too much, but sometimes you do have to use the regular mail. For more details, see Canada Post's Prices.

Our receptionist did not change the rates on our machine on the 15th. She is not here today and so when another of our staff went to post a letter she saw it had not been done. What will happen to all the mail that has gone out the past week at the old rate? Will we be receiving it back again for insuficient postage?
Your new rates for medium lettermanil are going to put lettermail out of
existence. Is that your plan,if so you will be a success. The poor people have
to pay the same price for everthing as the rich do. People will know longer
do Christmas cards and once you stop you don’t start again.I have family
members saying they no longer have faith in Canada post and when ever they
can they will be using ups.
So when you make statements re: lost revenue, you need to look within your
own organization, for poor decisions.
Catherine… this is not the post office – just an ASK forum…
what would the postage rate be to send a letter from US to Canada?
where are all the answers??
Hi Juliann,
Sorry I missed your question.
In 2013, a standard-sized letter or postcard to Canada from the U.S. costs $1.10.
