Roberta Bondar Blasts off to Space

Dr. Roberta Bondar becomes the first Canadian woman in space in this 1992 video clip from the CBC Archives. Bondar and the rest of the crew board the space shuttle Discovery, but must wait anxiously while a problem with a fuel cell is fixed. Then it's blast-off to the cheers of friends and fans at the Kennedy Space Center.
