Parliament

Definition: Parliament is the legislative branch of the federal government in Canada. The Parliament of Canada is made up of the Sovereign, represented by the Governor General of Canada, the House of Commons and the Senate.

The term Parliament also describes the period of time during which members of parliament and senators are assembled, from a general election to dissolution.
