Guide Review - Colombo's All-Time Great Canadian Quotations
The unique thing about this book is that the Canadian quotations are presented in chronological order. Only 600 important and "essential" quotations are presented and each has a commentary with additional information and context. The quotations are indexed by contributor. As well as the standard quips from politicians, statesmen and authors, this book includes election slogans, book titles, mottoes, songs and even ditties. Reading the book from beginning to end is informative and also extremely entertaining. It gives a sense of the social and political evolution of Canada as a nation, and gives an historical and physical context to many familiar Canadian quotations.
