Canadian Air Travel Consumer Tips

Just as important as the complaints procedure set up by the Canadian Transportation Agency (CTA), is the consumer information the CTA provides on how airlines and flights work in Canada.

For example, did you know that when you check your baggage, you should ask the airline representative about liability limits? If you feel the limit does not cover the value of your baggage, you may request a higher liability limit in advance for an additional charge.

Some of the consumer tips on air travel covered on the CTA site are

  • airline tickets
  • the importance of the airline's tariff
  • bumping or denied boarding
  • lost luggage
  • reservations and check-in times

Taking the time to go through this information carefully could save Canadian air travelers a lot of frustration.
