St. John's

Definition: St. John's is the capital city of the province of Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada. It is the largest city in Newfoundland. St. John's is located on the northeastern arm of the Avalon Peninsula in southeast Newfoundland.

Legend has it that the origin of the name St. John's is from the Feast of St. John the Baptist and the discovery of Newfoundland on that day in 1497 by explorer John Cabot.
