In the 2008 Canadian federal election, election results are not allowed to be published or broadcast in any electoral district in which the polls are still open.
Since the polling stations on the West coast close at 7:00 pm PDT (10:00 pm EDT), national news organizations and Elections Canada will not publish results until 10:00 pm EDT.
