Canadian government budgets are good indicators of the thrust of government policy and government initiatives to expect. Here are the most recent budgets from the federal government and governments of the provinces and territories in Canada.
Canadian Federal Budget 2012
The March 2012 federal budget sets an economic agenda to bring Canada back to balanced budgets in the medium term and propserity in the long term.
Alberta Budget 2012
The February 2012 Alberta budget is a pre-election budget which invests in families, communities and support for the vulnerable. There are no tax increases, but record spending and the fifth consecutive provinical deficit.
British Columbia Budget 2011
The February 2011 British Columbia budget focuses new spending on health care and social services and provides some fiscal flexibility for the new premier and cabinet.
Manitoba Budget 2011
The April 2011 Manitoba budget gives municipalities a share of the provincial sales tax, increases the basic personal income tax exemption, invests in education and health care, and promises to eliminate the deficit by 2014.
New Brunswick Budget 2011-12
The New Brunswick March 2011 budget cuts the forecast provincial deficit in half. Reductions in government spending, cancellation of a tax rate cut for high earners, and increases in taxes on cigarettes and gas are featured.
Newfoundland Budget 2011
The Newfoundland and Labrador April 2011 budget projects a surplus and inlcudes tax relief, investment in health care, new measures to assist families and children, infrastructure, innovation and social programming.
NWT Budget Address 2011
The February 2011 budget for the Northwest Territories contains $16.9 million in new spending. The finance minister said that although the NWT is making some progress in terms of economic recovery, the economic situation remains very fragile.
Nova Scotia Budget 2010
With a four-year deficit-cutting plan, the April 2010 Nova Scotia budget raises the provincial portion of the HST to 15 percent from 13 percent, eliminates full indexing of public service pensions, and cuts the public service by 10 percent through attrition.
Nunavut Budget 2011-12

The Ontario March 2011 budget focuses on reducing the deficit while maintaining core spending in health care and education.
PEI Budget 2010

Quebec Budget 2011 - 2012
The Quebec March 2011 Budget expects to eliminate the deficit by 2013-14. It raises university tuition fees, raises Quebec Pension Plan contribution rates, adds a penalty for those who retire early but offers a tax credit for workers who retire after 65.
Saskatchewan Budget 2011 - 2012
The Saskatchewan March 2011 Budget is a surplus budget. It lowers taxes for individuals, families and businesses and improves public services. Health spending will go up about 6.2 percent.
Yukon Budget 2011-12 Highlights
The Yukon February 2011 Budget is a surplus budget. Yukon has the lowest unemployment rate in Canada and a growing population. The budget includes investments in health care, green energy, resource and land development, housing, education, and public and social infrastructure.
