About Clara Hughes
Canadian speed skater Clara Hughes is the only athlete to have won multiple Olympic medals in both Summer and Winter Olympics. She began her Olympic athletic career as a cyclist, taking home two bronze medals from the Atlanta Olympics in 1996. In 2000, she decided to return to speed skating, and made the Canadian national team. In 2002 Clara Hughes won a bronze medal in the 5000m at the Salt Lake City Olympics, and in 2006 she won a gold medal in the 5000m at the Turin Olympics, as well as a silver in the team pursuit.
Clara Hughes heads into the 2010 Vancouver Olympics still looking for what she considers "the perfect race."
