NETFILE

By , About.com Guide

Definition: NETFILE is a Canadian federal government service for individuals to use to file their personal income tax returns directly with the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) over the Internet. While the NETFILE service itself is free, you must use a commercial software package or a Web application certified by the CRA to prepare your income tax return.

Most personal income tax returns can be filed using NETFILE, but there are a few restrictions on the type of returns that can be filed using NETFILE.

One advantage of using NETFILE is that you'll get a faster income tax refund, possibly within two weeks.

For more information on using NETFILE, see NETFILE - Filing Canadian Income Taxes Online.
