About Floyd Roland:
An Inuvialuit, Floyd Roland represents the Inuvik Boot Lake riding in the northwest corner of the Northwest Territories. Since first becoming a Northwest Territories MLA, Floyd Roland has had extensive experience as a minister in a variety of portfolios, including finance, health, human resources and public works.
On becoming Premier, Floyd Roland stressed the need for a stronger approach that gives northerners more benefits from the development of resources in the North.

Political Career of Floyd Roland:
- Floyd Roland was a member of the Inuvik Town Council for three years, including serving as Deputy Mayor from 1994-95.
- Floyd Roland was first elected to the Northwest Territories Legislative Assembly in 1995.
- Most recently, Floyd Roland served as Deputy Premier and Minister of Finance.
- Floyd Roland has also been Minister of Health and Social Services, Minister of Public Works and Services, Minister of Human Resources and Minister Responsible for the Public Utilities Board.
- Acclaimed in his riding of Inuvik Boot Lake in the 2007 Northwest Territories general election, on October 17, 2007 Floyd Roland was elected Premier by his fellow MLAs under the consensus government of the Northwest Territories.
