Alberta Electoral Divisions
There are 87 provincial electoral divisions in Alberta.
Electoral Divisions Changed for the 2012 Election
Approximately every eight to ten years electoral boundaries in Alberta are adjusted to ensure that representation in the Alberta Legislative Assembly reflects changes in the size and distribution of the population of Alberta. The Alberta Electoral Boundaries Commission 2009/10 issued its final report to the Alberta Legislative Assembly in June 2010 and the Electoral Divisions Act 2010 was passed in December 2010.
New boundaries came into effect the day the writ was called for the 2012 general Alberta provincial election.
Four new electoral divisions have been added and the names and boundaries of many electoral divisions in Alberta have been changed, so be sure to check to see if your electoral division has been affected.
