In 1996 a Permanent Register of Electors was established in Alberta. The Alberta Register of Electors is updated on a continuous basis by Elections Canada and Elections Alberta.

Elections Alberta also provides an online service called Voterlink which allows you to register to vote for the first time or to change your existing voter registration information.

You need an Alberta drivers licence or an Alberta Identification card to use Voterlink.

Registering to Vote on Election Day

Even if your name is not on the Alberta Register of Electors, you can still register to vote at the polling station on election day by taking an oath and providing two pieces of identification.
