Who Can Vote in Nova Scotia Elections

Eligibility to Vote in Provincial Elections in Nova Scotia, Canada

To vote in Nova Scotia provincial elections you must be

  • a Canadian citizen

  • at least 18 years old on or before election day

  • a resident of Nova Scotia for at least 6 months before the date of the election writ.

You may not vote in a Nova Scotia provincial election if

  • you are the Chief Electoral Officer

  • you are a returning officer
