Who Can Vote in Saskatchewan Elections

Eligibility to Vote in Provincial Elections in Saskatchewan, Canada

To vote in a Saskatchewan election you must be

  • a Canadian citizen

  • at least 18 years old on election day

  • an ordinary resident of Saskatchewan for at least six months immediately before the date of the election writ, and an ordinary resident in the constituency.

You may also vote in a Saskatchewan election if you are

  • a British subject who was qualified as a voter on June 23, 1971.

You may not vote in a Saskatchewan election if

  • you are the Chief Electoral Officer or the Assistant Chief Electoral Officer

  • you have been convicted in the previous five years of engaging in corrupt practices.
