Alberta Clipper

Definition: An Alberta clipper is a fast-moving winter storm that starts east of the Canadian Rockies and moves out over the Prairies, the northern midwest United States and the Great Lakes region. Alberta clippers usually drop only light snow because they move so quickly, but they are often followed by colder temperatures and strong winds which can produce blizzard conditions.
